On Saturday, our new contributor, Karen Egyud, posted the song of the week – Blessed Assurance by Tommee Profitt & Mara Justine – check it out hereThis classic United Methodist Hymn has a great history, “The beloved hymn “Blessed Assurance” was born in 1873 when composer Phoebe Palmer Knapp visited her friend, the legendary blind hymn-writer Fanny Crosby. Knapp played a new, untitled melody on the piano and asked Crosby what the tune “said” to her. Crosby immediately responded, “Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!” and quickly dictated the rest of the classic lyrics” You can click on the link for the YouTube video or listen at your favorite place for music or the Exile Spotify Playlists mentioned above.
