This past weekend, Paula (my wife) and I went to a Nationals vs. Reds baseball game. I’m a huge Cincinnati Reds fan but my team lost. I became a fan as a child watching/listening to the Reds play from my great grandfather and my grandmother!

Saturday Song of the Week
On Saturday, Karen Egyud posted the song of the week – It Really is Amazing Grace by Phil Wickham and Crowder.
”I’ll testify of what He did
He gave me life, I’m born again
My heart is free, my soul is saved
It really is amazing grace”
Wickham was deeply moved by the literal history behind the hymn. He shared that when John Newton wrote “saved a wretch like me,” it wasn’t just poetic imagery—Newton was a human trafficker and slave trader who experienced a radical spiritual awakening after surviving a horrific shipwreck. The track was created to emphasize that God can completely transform any person’s heart, no matter how heavy their sin.
Wickham noted that he has sung “Amazing Grace” his entire life—at funerals, during salvation moments, and in private reflection. He wanted a way to carry that history forward and continue singing the timeless lyrics in a brand-new way that would engage modern church congregations. Crowder joined the track because of his shared excitement for the message of rescue and redemption, adding his unique vocal texture to the second verse.
