Thursday Reflection
We started a new series based on the book Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster. Over the next 6 weeks, we will be discussing important spiritual practices that help us grow closer to God. This week we take a look at solitude – https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Djs5zR4fd/n.
Saturday Song of the Week
On Saturday, Karen Egyud posted the song of the week that ties to our new series. The song is Be Still and Know by Stephen Curtis Chapman – here’s a link from Karen introducing the song – https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1MepmMYeHQ/.
Steven Curtis Chapman wrote the song while on a long-haul airplane flight to Africa with his 9-year-old son, Caleb.
- The Inspiration: Caleb was restless, couldn’t sit still, and was spilling drinks.
- The Scripture: Overwhelmed and feeling like he wouldn’t survive the flight, Chapman opened his Bible and read Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.”
- The Creation: Inspired by the verse and his chaotic surroundings on the plane, he wrote the song right then and there beside his son.
